The umbrella isn't just a logo. It's the promise.
Running together should feel good – before, during and after the run. These are the building blocks RunBrella uses to protect you.
Checked identities
Joining runs, hosting and booking companions only work with a confirmed identity. Moderation checks profile photos before others see them.
Private meeting points
Only the rough area is public, rounded to about a kilometre. Only participants see the exact meeting point.
Women-only runs
Women-only runs are open only to verified women. The same goes for companions who only want to be booked by women.
A private check-in instead of stars
We don't rate people publicly – that invites retaliation and stops people from reporting problems. Instead we ask privately after every run whether everything was okay.
Careful moderation
Repeated "not okay" answers about the same person, or a report, lead to a review. The reported person never learns who reported them.
No messages from strangers
Direct messages only when you follow each other. Single messages can be reported, and run chats delete themselves after 7 days.
As little as possible. As private as possible.
- Your live location is never shared with others.
- "I am here" compares your location with the meeting point once – only the result is stored.
- Statistics, watch data and achievements are private – unless you choose to show your achievements.
- Usage statistics and crash reports only with your consent. No ads, no selling of data.
- Export your data and delete your account right in the app.
Tips for every run
- Meet in busy, public places.
- Tell someone where and with whom you're running.
- Trust your gut – you can stop any run at any time.
- Use the backup meeting point if you can't find each other.
- In an emergency: 112.
