What does RunBrella cost?
The app and running together are free. Only running companions may charge up to €15 per run – many run along for free.
When and where can I get the app?
RunBrella comes to Android on Google Play first. We start in Cologne, but the app works anywhere – you simply choose your area.
How does verification work?
Before joining or hosting runs you confirm your identity. We don't store identity documents in the app. Moderation checks profile photos before others see them.
Who sees my meeting point?
Only the rough area (rounded to about 1 km) is public. Only people taking part see the exact meeting point and the backup point.
What is the check-in after a run?
After every run we ask you privately whether everything was okay. Only our moderation sees your answer, so you can report problems without anyone finding out.
Are there women-only runs?
Yes. Women-only runs are open only to verified women. Companions can also choose to be booked only by women.
How does RunBrella know I really ran?
A run counts when you tap "I am here" at the meeting point, the host ticks you off, or – optionally – your watch confirms the run via Health Connect.
Are there leaderboards?
No. Streaks, medals and statistics are for you. Others only see your achievements if you switch that on in the settings.
Can anyone message me?
No. Direct messages only exist between members who follow each other. In a run chat only participants can write.
How do I delete my account?
Right in the app under Settings → Delete account. More on the delete your account page.
